Shenandoah National Park

November 12, 2003

One of the songs I learned in elementary school was "O Shenandoah". It was late fall and there were very few people visiting the park. Deer were everywhere, and we got some of our best-ever bear photos right from the car! So many deer leapt out of the woods into the path of the Corvette that Dennis began to worry that our luck would run out, so we turned downhill toward Luray Caverns, instead.

It was great to see such a beautiful and peaceful area just hours from the big city. I wish we could have stayed there for days.
